1960′s Mad Men

I wish I was my age now, except living in the 1960′s.
I’ve become obsessed with the TV Show ‘Mad Men’. It’s set in the 1960′s and is focused around the lives of those who work for an advertising company called Sterling Cooper. Donald Draper is the main character who is the creative director for the company. He is pretty effing amazing, men want to be him & women want to be with him.
I just love the fashion and style of the Sixties. Everything was so meticulous; men combed their hair without a strand out of place and wore perfect fitting 3-piece suits & hats, while women always wore dresses or anything of high waisted calibre and had upstyle hair cuts. So much more time and effort went into their appearance on a daily basis. These days we only get dressed up to go out, they used to do this shit everyday because it was the thing to do. Who knows, fashion always goes full cycle, maybe one day we’ll live in a world wear everyone looks as awesome as these cool cats:

You may be saying: “HEY! These guys aren’t wearing 3 piece suits or hats! What the heck man? You burned us bozo!” Well just settle down there, Billy. That’s because these legends are college students who are too busy chillin’ in cardigans & turtlenecks to worry about suits just yet. Just look how cool they are! A for effort boys. I want one of those jumpers. I would seriously study at college only for the fact of rocking one of those bad boys. I bet the chicks went wild for them!
This photo reminds me so much of a Ralph Lauren campaign though. If I could afford it, I would totally run this look dressed all in RL’s finest.

So much class and elegance. Look at her in all her glory; Audrey Hepburn. Such an iconic actress of the fifties and sixties. She’s one of the very few women who can make smoking look sexy. She’s one fine piece of ace.

These are the Mad Men & Women, with Donald and Betty Draper in the front. Betty is absolutely stunning. I’ve developed a ginormous crush on her since I’ve started watching the show. I can’t help but stare at her, her eyes and smile are just so enchanting.

Well i hope you thought this post was neato! Swell! Super and/or terrific!

    Joan Joan Joan!
    So sexy.

The Mad girls are so stylish. They look like little dolls with their dresses. I wish clothes were still that quality. :(

Mad Men is quite possibly the best adult drama series out! The amount of detail they have put into this show, to make it as authentic as possible ( wallpaper, language, food, and fashion ofcourse), is simply mind- boggling!

.. i wish i could go to a bar and ask for the Donald Draper classic- Old Fashioned or a cute little Gimlet, and not be confronted with a blank stare!

You’re too right cinnamon pearl! It’s an amazing show, i’m totally hooked – it even made me want to change professions and get into advertising. Somehow I don’t think the firms these days would allow smoking and drinking on the job.

Hopefully I’ll be hitting the advertising scene in a few more years, hip flask secretly on hand, to get the creative juices flowing! Nobody will suspect a thing….

If only there were men like Don and Roger still around, downing bloody marys for breakfast * sigh*.. if only :(
