Ahh Melbourne. The forefront of all things sexy and cool. Even saying the word Melbourne hardens a muscular appendage in some area(s) of my body, I’ll leave the guessing as to which one(s) up to you. Melbourne has been lovingly assembled with alley ways, cafes, bars, shops, trams, arenas and crazed AFL fans proudly sporting their team’s colours. There is nowhere else that can get you so close to a European cultured lifestyle without actually leaving the country.

I read about Tusk before I went to Melbourne on Garance Doré‘s blog and just knew I had to go. When a French woman comes to Australia and praises a cafe so highly, you know it’s worth your while. So I convinced the 3 friends I was with in to taking me out of the city for some quality food/coffee lovin’. I have this thing now where I like to compare poached eggs from one cafe to the next, trying to find the best damn poached eggs in town! So I ordered the Vegetarian Breakfast. Now I’m no food critic, but oh my these eggs were “so choice” and definitely met the criteria to be worshiped. If they had a crown balanced upon their soft little heads and held a septar then I would be the one kneeling before them granting their every command.

“Kill all humans!”

The coffee was everything I had hoped for; smooth, tasty and at the perfect temperature for my supple little lips. Tusk has an welcoming and warm vibe to it, a place where I can see myself settling down and raising some little Stevelettes. If only they’d have me. And if that’s not a practical solution for my desire to be surrounded by everything Tusk, then I’ll just have to drop by again, and again, when I visit Melbourne in July. :-)

Two cafe posts in a row?! What are you turning in to? Not another eatability that’s for sure. It was purely just a coincidence… I swear.
